Scottish Cities Alliance
The breakfast gathers experts from Europe’s smartest cities to discuss the latest developments on the topic of Smart Cities and to share knowledge and to open up for collaboration. The host Scottish Cities Alliance (SCA), a collaboration of Scotland’s cities, is on track to turn its cities into world-leading digital hubs with the aim of making services across Scotland’s cities more efficient and greener. SCA will be discussing its own Smart Cities initiatives as well as opening the conversation to the table.

Moderator: Mark Jenkinson, Siemens, the leading global engineering and technology services company. Mark oversees Siemens’ city approach in the Nordics, the UK and Ireland and supports London’s sustainable development through the provision of smart, efficient technological solutions.
Serge Merone, Investment Manager, Perth & Kinross Council and representative of the Scottish Cities Alliance
Serge has a particular focus on low carbon and renewable energies, digital connectivity, smart and green mobility. He has extensive working experience on EU programmes and policies, investment and funding and is part of the team which developed the Tay Cities Deal.
Paul Wheelhouse, Minister for Business, Innovation and Energy, The Scottish Parliament
Paul is a member for South Scotland with the Scottish National Party.
Olle Zetterberg, CEO & President, Stockholm Business Region
In his seventeen years working for the City of Stockholm, Olle has previously been Director of City Planning, Director of traffic and Real Estate. Olle has been CEO of Stockholm Business Region since 2007.
Shifa Mustafa, Executive Director of Place, London Borough of Croydon
Shifa leads on safety, streets, development, regeneration, culture and planning.
Hannu Penttilä, Deputy Mayor, City of Vantaa, Finland and board member at Helsinki Smart & Clean Foundation.
Hannu has over fifteen years’ experience leading city and regional councils, with particular expertise in transport and environment management.
Rosemary Feenan, International Director and Head of Cities Research Programme at JLL
Rosemary is a Trustee of the Urban Land Institute and serves on the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on the Future of Cities.
Joe Dignan, Founder, Kintechi has thirty years’ global experience and is a recognised international speaker and chairman on smart cities. Recent Events have included eDubai, eIndia, Smart Cities Africa and his research focus while Chief Analyst for EMEA Public Sector for OVUM was dedicated to smart cities.
Debra Mountford, Project Manager, OECD
Debra has worked on urban policy and city/metropolitan studies at the OECD since 1997. She qualified as an urban designer in the UK and lead the Urban Renaissance series covering urban regeneration, including Glasgow.
Ann Marie Aguilar, IWBI Director of Operations for Europe, International WELL Building Institute
An advocate of the impact of Space Design on Human Behaviour & Performance, Ann Marie is an architect, formerly Associate Director at Arup Associates.
Peter Besley, Co-founder, Assemblage
ASSEMBLAGE is a London-based studio of architects and urban designers active in a wide field of design from individual objects and buildings through to large urban strategies. Assemblage is currently working on the Greenwich Design District.
Josh Artus, Director & Co-Founder of The Centric Lab
Josh is a director of The Centric Lab, a London based neuroscience research lab for the built environment. Their role is to help improve the user experience of the built environment through scientific research applied to industry problems.
